What it does

Builds a tree from one outcome down through opportunities (customer needs pulled from interviews and jobs-to-be-done), solutions that address them (from ideation and How Might We), and experiments that test them. Every row points at the card it came from instead of copying its text — the tree answers why an idea is on the canvas at all.

When to reach for it

When interviews, a jobs-to-be-done board and an idea list already exist separately and need one chain connecting them, or before prioritizing — the tree hands its opportunities to Impact–Effort and Decision as a plain list.

Worth knowing

Never invents research: every opportunity, solution and experiment must trace back to a connected card, or the branch stays thin rather than padded. A solution addresses exactly one opportunity, an experiment tests exactly one solution — that edge is the point of the method, not the text.
